Having a fast-paced life is not an excuse to let being thankful be on the back burner. I think we get so caught up with the demands that keep our minds so occupied that we feel we do not have time to be purposeful about being thankful. We owe it to ourselves to take a breather and take a step back to see our lives from the outside looking in and take a good look at everything that is beautiful around us. If we wait (like some people do) to only be thankful on the one day it is expected to be thankful, we are doing ourselves a disservice. Living each day with a grateful approach will not only make us more positive and happier, but the people around us will also. So much negativity seems to have captured us for ransom and being thankful could be the way out of the stronghold society thrives on having. As Thanksgiving approaches, I am challenging everyone to take some mindful minutes each day leading up to and beyond Thanksgiving to purposefully think about the things you are thankful for. I will do this too! It does not have to be complicated. If you are a journal person, keep a gratitude journal, or if you have other ways of doing it, that is okay too. Just do something. Hope can grow, and the result will be a harvest wave of thankfulness. Stay Curious, Kayla ©Inquisitive Perspectives 2018
